Ben Popper spent over a decade as a journalist, covering the intersection of culture and technology. His work has appeared in the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, and many others. For five years he was the business editor of The Verge, where wrote stories on serial fabulists, self-professed cyborgs, robot battles, and driverless cars.
He now works for Stack Overflow, the world’s largest online resource for software developers looking to learn new skills and improve their code. During his time he helped to increase weekly traffic to the company’s blog by more than 500% and relaunched its podcast, which receives over 35,000 downloads a week.
His most recent project was the creation of Stack Overflow’s Industry Guide to AI.
Prior to Stack Overflow Ben worked at at DJI, a world-wide leader in consumer robotics, aerial imaging, and autonomous systems. He helped with the launch of products such as the Mavic Air, Osmo, Tello, and Robomaster S-1. Before joining, he wrote a story on DJI's annual robotics competition.
